Vixen Digital Camera Adapter

Because I also want to start with astronomic photgraphy, I baught a digital camera adapter of company Vixen for my Nikon Coolpix. It was delivered after a couple of weeks by Vehrenberg. In the meantime I replaced the camera by the new Nikon Coolpix 4500
Cost of the adapter (81,-Eur) with camera specific ring (25,-Eur): 106,-Eur

The adapter consits of 4 parts, a usable instruction is attached.
The adapter matches only the Vixen LV eyepieces (1 1/4"), exception is the 40mm LV, which is too thick, unfortunately company Vehrenberg did not mention it at their Internet Shop. Beside this, it seems it not made by the same manufactur, e.g. only 42° viewing field (other LV's 50°), but 32mm eye distance (else 20mm). In the meantime I got a special adapter rotated. Yet usable, if one of your friends knows somebody at an airplane builder.

The special camera ring will be screwed onto the filter thread of the Coolpix and fits via 3 setscrews onto the eyepiece. Pay attention to the screw, in open position , they are only a few rotations inside the thread, so they fall out easy.

On the telescope, it looks like that:

The lever is quite long, so it could that you loose the object out the viewfield during attaching the camera. I hope, this effect will be smaller with the new CP4500 (lighter and more compact).
